On Sept.12, leaders from Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) announced the location of its new clinic site in Seattle’s Central District.
The future home of OBCC, situated on the corner of 18th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St., will serve area patients and families with robust mental health and behavioral health services, nutrition, acute and well-child medical visits, labs, violence and injury prevention support and addiction related resources, which are unique to OBCC and not offered elsewhere.
“The Central District neighborhood is OBCC’s original home, and we are overjoyed to share this news,” said Dr. Shaquita Bell, OBCC’s senior medical director. “This location is in the heart of the Central District and allows us to continue caring for our patients and families in the neighborhood, as we have for over 50 years.”
OBCC Central District is located less than one mile away from the original E. Yesler Way location, which was closed in 2022 for building repairs.
The new site will join OBCC Othello’s current location in South Seattle as a place where generations of families can continue to receive quality care with dignity and provides another option for trusted care.
“In exploring locations, two things were critical; remaining in the Central District and ensuring the location selected was suited to serve the most critical needs identified by patient families and the communities we serve,” explained Jamie Phillips, COO of Seattle Children’s. “After engaging in a year-long visioning process to reimagine what services would best serve our patients and families, we’re thrilled to have found this location and are grateful for the feedback provided by the OBCC community during the process.”
New updates, including an announcement of the clinic’s re-opening date, will be shared publicly as they become available on the OBCC website and Facebook page.
